Mortal Kombat 1 On Switch Gets Missing Mode, But All Is Not Well

After receiving fatality blows from players for lackluster visuals, long loading times, and more, Mortal Kombat 1 on Nintendo Switch has received its first big patch to address some of these issues. The update also brings Season 1 of Invasions and gameplay balance tweaks to the fighting title.

One of the first huge complaints for Mortal Kombat 1 on Switch was how it seemed to look worse than Mortal Kombat 11 on the hybrid system. This patch specifically notes that there are visual and performance improvements. It’s understandable the fighting game doesn’t graphically compare to the PC and modern consoles, but at the same time, people noted they all cost the same price at $70.

Now Playing: ALL Fatalities – Mortal Kombat 1 Gameplay

Mortal Kombat 1 also was missing a huge chunk of the Invasions mode on Switch at launch. That is now rectified with this new update, as the first season is available. The Mortal Kombat 1 website also lists “general bug fixes” as part of the patch, along with addressing loading times, leaderboards, and stability. The full list of changes is below:

The initial feedback from the Nintendo Switch subreddit (via IGN) appears rather mixed, though most people believe the loading times are still too long. Conversely, Mortal Kombat 1 fans do seem to think the frame rate is more stable.

Mortal Kombat 1’s Switch version isn’t the only one getting criticism, as Megan Fox’s performance as Nitara hasn’t been received particularly well. This comes after people had similar complaints about Ronda Rousey’s voice role as Sonya Blade in Mortal Kombat 11.
