PS5 Cloud Streaming Is Coming This Month

Sony has announced that PlayStation 5 Cloud Streaming will arrive later this month for PlayStation Plus Premium Members. Sony will begin launching the functionality for supported digital titles within the PlayStation Plus Game Catalog and Game Trials, as well as select titles members already own.

Sony is planning on launching cloud streaming in Japan on October 17, in Europe on October 23, and in North America on October 30. Only a few titles will be supported at the beginning, such as Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales, Ghost of Tsushima, and Mortal Kombat 11, but more games will receive cloud streaming functionality later on.

Game Trials for PS5 games like The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, Hogwarts Legacy, and The Callisto Protocol will be supported too. Digital games such as Resident Evil 4, Dead Island 2, and Genshin Impact are available for streaming as well, given that Plus Premium members already own them.

Furthermore, DLC and add-ons will be included for streaming. Members also have access to high-quality resolution options like 4K, 1440p, 1090p, and 720p. Additionally, you can capture screenshots and record up to three minutes of video, which will then be downloaded to the PS5’s media gallery app.

Sony announced that it would start publicly testing PS5 cloud game streaming back in June. While PS4, PS3, and classic PlayStation games have been available for cloud streaming already, we now have confirmation of PS5 cloud game streaming.
