Sonic Superstars October Release Date Confirmed At Gamescom

As part of Gamescom’s Opening Night Live event, Sega announced that its upcoming game Sonic Superstars will be released later this year on October 17.

The announcement trailer opened up with Sonic and his friends running around. As the trailer goes on, we’re shown traditional Sonic gameplay of him running through tracks and jumping on balloons. The trailer then shows off how co-op will work, with all of the heroes working together to reach the end of the level. But if co-op isn’t your style, you can play against your friends in a battle mode where you can customize how everyone looks.

According to the official Sonic website, the upcoming game will take place in the Northstar Islands. You’ll have the option to play as Sonic, Tails, Knuckles, and Amy, and you’ll be able to use new Emerald powers to defend yourself. Some of the new powers will allow you to multiply, swim up waterfalls, and change forms. This is the first Sonic game to game that’ll feature a four-player co-op, with a drop-in drop-out feature for local play
