Zelda: Tears Of The Kingdom – How To Get The Paraglider

Unlocking the paraglider in Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom is an important step in Link’s grand adventure, but like a lot of his journey, it can happen at very different moments depending on the player. In order to get the paraglider as soon as possible, you’ll want to follow a few specific steps, which we’ve detailed below.

You’ll receive the Zelda paraglider soon after you arrive in Lookout Landing–assuming you head straight for it following your descent from Great Sky Island. The problem for some players, however, is that it’s so easy to get distracted. Some on our team have avoided Lookout Landing for many hours, meaning they played a good while before getting the glider, which is one of the game’s most important items.

To ensure you get it fast, follow your quest marker when you first touch ground following the Great Sky Island extended opening sequence. This will guide you to Lookout Landing where you’ll meet Purah, a researcher and leader of the small but bustling village.

She’ll ask you to speak to Hoz up at the castle, and after you do, you’ll return to Purah where you’ll perform an introductory mission that explains how Skyview Towers work (hint: they work sort of like Sync Points in Assassin’s Creed).

In order to complete this mission, Purah will give you the paraglider which will permanently be added to Link’s inventory. You’ll then add the fast travel spot to your map, then quickly be thrust into the sky to capture the region’s topography, revealing it on your map.

Upon your descent, you’ll need to glide to safety, but don’t do it right away or else you’ll run out of stamina long before you’re safely near the ground and fall to your death. You won’t need to worry about being without it after that, as you can’t drop it from your inventory–plus you can even re-color it if you’d like to.
