GTA 5 Celebrates 4/20 And Adds Two New Multiplayer Modes

Grand Theft Auto Online’s newest weekly update is out now, and part of it is a celebration of the annual stoner holiday of 4/20. GTA Online players can celebrate the green day with a series of bonuses and special items to collect.

For starters, all of the “Short Trips” missions in which you play as Franklin and Lamar in weed-focused challenges are paying double GTA$ and RP all week.

Additionally, all GTA Online players can grow grass extra fast this week, as all Weed Farms are operating at double production speed. What’s more, supplies for said Weed Farms from Biker Resupply missions pay double this week.

Rockstar Games also announced that all Weed Farm locations and upgrades are 30% off this week. And in another nod toward blazing, everyone who logs in to GTA Online this week gets the High Flyer parachute bag–which has pot leaves all over it–and a pastel green smoking jacket, among other items.

Head to the Rockstar Newswire to read up on all of GTA Online’s weed-themed festivities.

Beyond those groovy goods, GTA Online introduces a new multiplayer mode called Shake Up this week. The free-for-all deathmatch mode gives players a new, random weapon every time they kill an opponent or respawn. Melee weapons are one-hit kills.

Another new multiplayer mode added to GTA Online is called Top Marks. In this mode, players get a different loadout and a different radar blip depending on if their team is winning, losing, or tied. Both Shake Up and Top Marks pay 3X GTA$ and RP this week.
