Oscar-winner Lady Gaga has wrapped her scenes at Harley Quinn for the highly anticipated Joker sequel. The singer and actress announced on Twitter that, barring any potential reshoots, she is done. In fact, the entire movie has wrapped filming, director Todd Phillips said on Instagram.
“That’s a wrap,” Gaga wrote, tagging the photographer who snapped the photo of her in costume.
Phillips said, “That’s a wrap. Thanks to these two (+ the entire cast) and the BEST crew that the film industry has to offer. From top to bottom. Gonna crawl into a cave now (edit room) and put it all together.”
Joker 2, which is called Joker: Folie à Deux, releases in October 2024, so there is still some time before it is ready for release. As Phillips said in his social media post, he’s now digging into the “cave” now to edit Joker 2 and “put it all together.”
Joker 2 brings back Joaquin Phoenix as the main character, and leaked photos from the set have shown Joker and Harley together in a number of scenes. Director Todd Phillips also recently shared a new photo of Phoenix as Joker (click the “next photo” button below to see him). Phoenix won an Oscar for his performance as Joker in a film that shattered expectations commercially and made more than $1 billion worldwide.
In addition to Phoenix’s Oscar win for Joker, composer Hildur Guðnadóttir won the Best Original Score Academy Award for the film.
Todd Phillips returns to write and direct Joker 2 alongside Scott Silver and other scribes. Zazie Beetz returns from the original movie alongside newcomers like Brendan Gleeson and Catherine Keener.
