Stranger Things star Noah Schnapp has revealed that production for the fifth and final season of the show will begin in May.
Schnapp, who plays Will Byers in the Netflix series, responded to a fan question during a recent Instagram Live session–via Collider–about when he will begin shooting season 5 of Stranger Things and whether it would interfere with school. The actor confirmed that filming will start in May after school finishes.
“Is school going to interfere with shooting?” Schnapp said. “No, it’s not. I’m done with school in May, and starting to shoot in May.”
It’s likely that given the time production begins, fans could expect season 5 to air sometime in 2024, although an announcement will be a ways off.
Creators Matt and Ross Duffer confirmed prior to the release of Stranger Things season 4 last year, which was split into two parts, that season 5 would be the final one for the series. However, it’s been confirmed that Netflix is looking to pursue additional spin-off projects based in the same universe.
