Where Is Xur Today? (September 16-20) – Destiny 2 Exotic Items And Xur Location Guide

Xur returns this weekend in Destiny 2 with a new batch of weapons and armor–perfect to help you take advantage of the week’s amped-up reputation gains in Vanguard Strikes and Nightfalls, and the return of the Trials of Osiris. He’s also offering two different sets of legendary armor–both of which you can no longer get in the rest of the game. Here’s where you can find Xur and what Exotics he’s offering.

This week you can find Xur on Nessus, in the Watcher’s Grave area. For his weapon, Xur is offering Twin-Tailed Fox. Hunters can pick up the Shards of Galanor gauntlets; Titans can grab the Hallowfire Heart chest armor; and for Warlocks, Xur has the Transversive Steps leg armor.

Xur Location

Spawn in at the Watcher’s Grave transmat zone on Nessus to find Xur this week. When you arrive, hop on your sparrow and make your way northwest toward the northern exit out of the area. On your right, you’ll see a tall tree with pink moss. Climb up into it and look toward the south to find Xur waiting for you.

Xur is present every weekend in Destiny 2, starting with the daily reset at 10 AM PT / 1 PM ET on Friday (until Daylight Saving brings that forward by an hour in November). Bungie doesn’t mark Xur’s location on the in-game map, so it can be easy to miss him if you’re not aware he exists. But he only comes to specific locations, of which now there are only three: the Tower Hangar area, on Nessus in Watcher’s Grave, and in the Winding Cove area of the EDZ.

Xur Exotic and Legendary Items

Two-Tailed Fox is Xur’s weapon this week, a fun rocket launcher that fires two projectiles at the same time. Those rockets have different effects when they hit enemies, making it a useful weapon in a lot of situations. If you’re not a fan of his other options, Xur also sells an Exotic engram that will decrypt into an Exotic you don’t already own from the world drop pool. Just note that you can only buy one per week, and the engram is specific to the character class who buys it–so if you’re trying to get a new Titan helmet, don’t buy the engram with your Warlock. He also has the new Xenology Quest, which rewards an Exotic Cipher you can use to purchase Exotics from either Xur or the Tower’s Monument to Lost Lights. The quest requires you to either complete Strikes or win matches in Gambit and the Crucible.

Alongside changes in his location, Xur’s inventory also rotates weekly. That means it’s worth visiting him each time to check out his new weapons and rolls on Exotic and Legendary armor. You can visit him any time between his arrival Friday and the weekly reset at 10 AM PT / 1 PM ET the following Tuesday when Xur departs the Solar System.

You can get Hawkmoon from Xur with Surplus this week, which is a roll you can go ahead and skip–there are a lot of perks that will serve this gun better. The same is true of Dead Man’s Tale, which sports Moving Target, a perk that doesn’t really play to DMT’s hip-firing strengths.

For Legendary weapons, Xur has some easily skippable guns, but a few that are worth your attention. The Imperial Needle bow from the Season of the Chosen is decent, with Impulse Amplifier and Swashbuckler, with a Draw Time Masterwork–this is a bow you can’t get very often now, and this roll helps it fire more quickly and effectively. The Interference VI grenade launcher is a solid damage weapon against bosses, with Field Prep, Full Court, and a Velocity Masterwork. And the Lonesome sidearm can be a great secondary weapon in the Crucible thanks to its Zen Moment and Kill Clip perks, along with a Range Masterwork.

You can get two sets of Legendary armor from Xur this week, which makes this a great weekend for fashion-forward Guardians. Both sets are no longer available anywhere else in the game. The Illicit Invader set was discontinued with Gambit Prime and Reckoning, making it completely unavailable in the game anywhere, and the Pathfinder set was available in Season of the Lost, which took place before the release of the Witch Queen expansion.

Two-Tailed Fox (Rocket Launcher)

There are a lot of cool rocket launchers in Destiny 2, but none are quite like Two-Tailed Fox. It fires two rockets at a time that track targets, which can do quite a bit of damage on their own. But the rockets also add elemental effects to their targets. One rocket is Solar and inflicts burning on enemies so they take damage over time, while the other is Void and suppresses targets, making it a pretty good option for blasting tough opponents or groups of Guardians.

Shards Of Galanor (Hunter)

The Blade Barrage Super has been powered up a bit recently, and Shards of Galanor makes it even more viable in a lot of cases. When you land hits and kills with the Super, you get Super energy back when the attack ends, allowing you to refill up to 50% of your Super after its use. That can help you get more Blade Barrages more often, and with the right Hunter build, that can make the Super highly effective against lots of enemies or even other Guardians.

Hallowfire Heart (Titan)

Hallowfire Heart can amp up your Solar Titan builds in some serious ways. The Exotic amps up the recharge rate for all your Solar abilities, and increases those rates even more when your Super is fully charged. Combine that with Sunspots and you can keep your abilities up almost all the time, making it great for throwing lots of grenades and ripping enemies with hammers.

Transversive Steps (Warlock)

Speedy Warlocks can be tough to deal with. Transversive Steps make you a faster Warlock with some additional benefits, making it a solid Exotic for the Crucible if you’ve got the space in your build. The boots increase your sprint speed, and after sprinting for a short period, they reload your currently equipped weapon, which can help you get ready for your next gun battle.
