Combat shield users in Call of Duty: Vanguard rejoice: the game’s latest update now makes it so stowed combat shields will offer some backside protection against incoming fire. Although full patch notes for the new November 10 update have not been released, Sledgehammer Games has provided an overview of some highlights via Twitter.
Players quickly noticed shields were not offering protection following the game’s launch, although it was unclear if it was an intentional decision on developer Sledgehammer Games’ part or a bug. Regardless, combat shield users will now be a little harder to take down when being shot from behind.
It’s just one of the changes deployed in a new update for Call of Duty: Vanguard, as detailed by the official Sledgehammer Games Twitter account. Other adjustments in the update include performance improvements, various bug fixes (including weapon progression bugs), and more. There are reports that some players have been unable to boot the game following update, but Sledgehammer Games has not yet commented on the issue.
Sledgehammer Games goes on to tweet that the team is also currently investigating spawn issues on Dome, challenge progression bugs, an issue related to infinite armor, and featured playlist queue issues. The studio goes on to state that the items listed above are the most pressing issues the team is looking to address, but that it is not a complete list of items the studio is working on.
Call of Duty: Vanguard recently suffered from server issues, though those look to have been fixed. Reviews for Call of Duty: Vanguard have been generally positive. Many reviews have mentioned the game’s campaign is short and not particularly memorable while praising the game’s multiplayer suite and Zombies mode.
