Amazon's Wheel Of Time Series Gets New 360-Degree Trailer

Prime Video has released a new trailer for its upcoming adaptation of The Wheel of Time, the best-selling fantasy novels which have to date sold more than 90 million books. Season 1 will begin streaming on the service on November 19.

Leaning into the show’s name, the trailer for Wheel of Time is presented in a unique 360-player with spatial audio surround sound. (However, do note that the trailer itself is still presented on a two-dimensional screen in that space.)

The official description for the series is as follows: “Set in a sprawling, epic world where magic exists and only certain women are allowed to access it, the story follows Moiraine (Rosamund Pike), a member of the incredibly powerful all-female organization called the Aes Sedai, as she arrives in the small town of Two Rivers. There, she embarks on a dangerous, world-spanning journey with five young men and women, one of whom is prophesied to be the Dragon Reborn, who will either save or destroy humanity.”

In addition to Pike, Season 1 will star Josha Stradowski, Marcus Rutherford, Zoë Robins, Barney Harris, Madeleine Madden, and Daniel Henney. Wheel of Time’s NYCC panel also revealed new series regulars for the previously announced Season 2: Ceara Coveney as Elayne Trakand, plus Natasha O’Keeffe and Meera Syal in undisclosed roles.

Although Season 1 has yet to air, it was recently announced that the show has already been greenlit for Season 2. That isn’t exactly a shock, since the source material is both so popular and also so vast–the series spans 14 books. During Comic-Con this year, showrunner and executive producer Rafe Judkins (Marvel’s Agents of SHIELD) shared some pre-recorded details about what to expect in Season 2.

Season 1 begins streaming November 19 on Amazon Prime.
