Chris Evans and Scarlett Johansson, two superstars from the Marvel Cinematic Universe, are set to appear in another movie together–but it’s not a new comic book or superhero film.
Evans and Johansson will star in the movie Ghosted, which is described as an “adventure movie project.” It’s being produced for Apple.
Dexter Fletcher, who directed Rocketman, is directing Ghosted. Deadpool writers Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick are writing the script and producing.
The plot is a secret, but The Hollywood Reporter described it as being like a “high-concept romantic action adventure in the vein of Romancing the Stone, the 1984 adventure movie that starred Michael Douglas and Kathleen Turner.”
Johnasson is currently suing Disney over the way in which Black Widow was released in theaters and on Disney+. Ghosted is the second movie she’s signed on to since the lawsuit was made public; she’ll also appear in the next Wes Anderson movie.
As for Evans, he’s already worked with Apple before on the drama Defending Jacob. Whether or not Johansson (Black Widow) and Evans (Captain America) ever return to the MCU is unknown.
