Halo Infinite officially has a release date. The highly anticipated first-person shooter arrives on December 8. The campaign and multiplayer will be available at launch, but you won’t be able to play co-op or access the Forge until a later date. Halo Infinite is available to preorder now. Microsoft is also releasing a limited-edition Halo-themed Xbox Series X and special Elite Series 2 controller on November 15.
As a first-party Microsoft game, Halo Infinite will also be available on day one for Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscribers. That said, if you prefer to own a physical copy of your games, you have multiple preorder options. Considering the history of Halo releases, we wouldn’t be surprised to see various Halo Infinite collector’s editions pop up soon.
Preorder Halo Infinite standard edition
$60
Halo Infinite’s standard edition is available to preorder at multiple retailers in both physical and digital formats. If you’re looking for a physical edition, multiple retailers are taking preorders. The disc will work on both Xbox One and Xbox Series X. Meanwhile, digital copies (compatible with Xbox and PC) are available at Best Buy. The Xbox Store and Steam both have placeholder listings, but preorders aren’t live at either digital storefront yet.

Preorder Halo Infinite Limited-Edition Xbox Series X
$550
The Halo Infinite-themed limited-edition Xbox Series X isn’t available to preorder yet, but it will be available for $550 and releases on November 15. The console has a gray and black design with a starry theme near the top. It also comes with a matching Xbox Wireless Controller and a digital copy of Halo Infinite that will unlock on December 8.
Preorder Halo Infinite Elite Series 2 Controller
$200
The Halo Infinite Elite Series 2 controller is modeled after Spartan armor. It sold out within minutes after going up for preorder despite costing $200 ($20 more than the standard Elite Series 2 controller). The premium controller comes with detachable paddles, the ability to remap inputs on the fly, profiles, adjustable stick tension, and trigger locks. The controller may be restocked and/or available at other retailers, too.
Preorder Razer Kaira Pro Halo Infinite Edition
Razer is releasing a limited-edition Halo Infinite-themed Kaira Pro wireless headset. The headset is available to preorder for $170 at GameStop. It has 50mm drivers, soft ear cushions, and four EQ settings, including an FPS setting that will be ideal for Halo Infinite.
Preorder Seagate Game Drive – Halo Infinite Edition
2TB – $100 | 5TB – $160
Seagate is releasing a Halo Infinite-themed Xbox game drive in October. It comes in two models, a 2TB for $100 and 5TB for $160. Keep in mind that while this portable hard drive works for Series X, it can only boot Xbox One games. You can store Xbox Series X games on it and transfer them to your internal hard drive, though.
Halo Infinite will support Smart Delivery, so you can purchase one copy of the game to play on both Xbox One and Xbox Series X. This is reflected in the physical box art, with the new simplistic “Xbox” moniker running across the top. If you buy the digital version of Halo Infinite from the Microsoft Store or other retailers like Best Buy, you’ll be able to play it on all three platforms–Xbox One, Xbox Series X, and PC–thanks to Microsoft’s Xbox Play Anywhere initiative.
