New Ghostbusters: Afterlife Trailer Dropping Tomorrow

Originally, Ghostbusters: Afterlife–a direct sequel to 1989’s Ghostbusters 2–was supposed to hit theaters last summer. Thanks to COVID-19 delays, it’s not scheduled for November 11. Thankfully, you won’t have to wait much longer to get a peek at the movie, though. A new trailer will be released Tuesday, July 27.

Original Ghostbusters star Dan Aykroyd, who serves as an executive producer on the film and will be reprising his role as Ray Stantz, shared the news on Twitter–along with a short video of the Ecto-1 in action. “Something’s coming, he wrote. “Watch the new trailer for [Ghostbusters]: Afterlife tomorrow!”

This is the first we have heard about the movie in quite a while. Back in April, a clip debuted, featuring Paul Rudd’s character encountering an army of tiny Stay-Puft marshmallow men, while some toys released earlier this year offered some small hints at what the movie will look like.

Ghostbusters: Afterlife is co-written and directed by Jason Reitman, son of co-writer/director of the first two films. In addition to Rudd, the movie stars Finn Wolfhard (Stranger Things), McKenna Grace (Annabelle Comes Home), and Carrie Coon (Avengers: Infinity War). Alongside Aykroyd, other original franchise stars expected to return include Bill Murray, Ernie Hudson, Sigourney Weaver, and Annie Potts.

Ghostbusters: afterlife will finally be in theaters on November 11.
