Where Is Xur Today? (July 19-23) Destiny 2 Exotic Items And Xur Location Guide

The action is heating up in Destiny 2 with the release of Episode Echoes: Act 2, and Xur has arrived with a fresh selection of Exotic armor and legendary-class gear. While you’re shopping, you can also check out details on the new rocket-assisted sidearm Aberrant Action and the perfect god-roll for this weapon. Interestingly, Xur is also selling a Nightfall Cipher for Adept-class weapons this week, and this is the first time he has ever offered one of these. Here’s where Xur is this weekend and what he has for sale.

Xur is offering the Exotic weapons catalysts for Traveler’s Chosen and Sunshot, and for Exotic armor, Hunters can pick up Gemini Jester; Titans can grab Dunemarchers; and Warlocks can buy Astrocyte Verse.

Xur Location

Spawn in at the Tower and hang a right past Banshee-44. Continue down the stairs, follow the corridor, and once you hit the Bazaar, turn right down the nearby alleyway. You’ll find Xur here in his dedicated alcove, ready to sell you his latest wares if you have enough Strange Coins in your pocket. Check out our how to get Strange Coins guide for details on earning this currency, which involves doing ritual activities to earn them.

Xur Exotic Items And Other Wares

The Nightfall Cipher for Adept weapons is worth pointing out this week, as we’ve never seen Xur offer one of these before. This gives you a new option to focus one of these weapons outside of Nightfalls, although you will need to have unlocked its pattern already before you can do so, and you’ll need several Nightfall Ciphers to do so. If you’ve been short of one, this is a pretty good way to top up your Guardian’s wallet.

Exotic Armor

Gemini Jester (Exotic Hunter leg armor)

These Exotic trousers are pretty great for when you’re in PvP, as the Misdirection perk can be used to confuse opponents. Dodging will disorient nearby enemies and temporarily remove their radar, leaving them in a prime position to score a quick elimination. Unfortunately, some of the stats on this Exotic are very bad, as resilience, recovery, and discipline range from average to extremely low.

Mobility: 18Resilience: 8Recovery: 6Discipline: 2Intellect: 16Strength: 16Total: 66

Dunemarchers (Exotic Titan leg armor)

With Dunemarchers, your Titan will get increased sprint speed and they’ll build up a static charge while running that can be used to chain extra damage to an enemy after you land a melee attack. Very nice for crowd control in PvE, the numbers on this Exotic are pretty great as you’re getting solid resilience, recovery, and discipline stats. Strength is also notable, so pick these up if you can spare the Strange Coins.

Mobility: 7Resilience: 11Recovery: 16Discipline: 16Intellect: 2Strength: 14Total: 66

Astrocyte Verse (Exotic Warlock helmet)

For the Warlock looking to weave in and out of danger, Astrocyte Verse allows you to teleport longer and more frequently when you use that ability during your Nova Warp Super. Targets also become volatile near you when you teleport, and while your Super is active, the ability doesn’t consume any Super energy. The stats are low to average on this roll–mobility sadly consumes the lion’s share–and we have seen worse in the past regarding this Exotic. We’ve also seen better, so it might be worth picking up if the stats on your current Astrocyte Verse are worse than the ones on this Exotic.

Mobility: 19Resilience: 6Recovery: 8Discipline: 10Intellect: 10Strength: 11Total: 64

Exotic Weapon Catalysts

Traveler’s Chosen

Osmosis: Using your grenade ability partially refills the magazine and changes this weapon’s damage type to match your grenade until you stow it.

Surplus: Increases handling, reload speed, and stability for each fully charged ability.

Sunshot

Increased weapon handling and range.

Xur has changed how he conducts business in The Final Shape. For his rotating selection of Exotic weapon catalysts, he’ll sell two each week. His selection will contain older catalysts that are found through random drops prior to The Witch Queen expansion, and he will not have catalysts associated with quests, Exotic missions, Season Pass Exotics, campaign Exotics, preorder Exotics, raid Exotics, or dungeon Exotics.

Xur will also have three random Exotic weapons available for sale, in addition to Hawkmoon. Xur will still sell Legendary armor and weapons, as well as engrams that can yield any item in those pools at random. Like other vendors, Xur also has his own reputation track now and the more you spend, the more reputation rewards you’ll earn, including an Exotic Cipher after every rank reset.

Additionally, Xur’s loyalty program kicks in after you spend 47 Strange Coins, granting you a Strange Favor buff. This lasts for 11 days and can be stacked up to three times–once per week–giving you a chance to earn a bonus Strange Coin from activities that reward you with the currency. Xur is present every weekend in Destiny 2, starting with the daily reset at 10 AM PT / 1 PM ET each Friday.
