A Quiet Place 2 Behind-The-Scenes Video Shows John Krasinski Discussing Day One

A Quiet Place: Part II is now streaming at home and available digitally, and one of the bonus features for the home video release provides a behind-the-scenes look at the epic opening sequence to the sci-fi film. The new clip was shared by Collider.

This story and video contains spoilers for A Quiet Place: Part II, so be aware of that if you choose to read on.

The opening sequence in A Quiet Place: Part II is a flashback to the day the aliens came to Earth. The day begins peacefully enough in an idyllic-looking small town, but all hell breaks loose and the sequence is tense, scary, and incredibly important narratively to help set up the events to come. In the new behind-the-scenes video, Krasinski talks about why they chose Akron, New York’s Main Street as the setting for this opening scene and how he and his team went to great lengths to make the sequel feel “real.”

A Quiet Place: Part II comes to 4K HD, Blu-ray, and DVD on July 27. It will have other bonus features, too, including Director’s Diary: Filming with John Krasinski, Pulling Back the Curtain, Regan’s Journey, Surviving the Marine, and Detachable Disturbance: Visual Effects and Sound Design.

In June, it was announced that Paramount will make a third movie in the series–being described as a spin-off–slated for a 2023 release. The new film is written and directed by Jeff Nichols, who previously directed Mud and Midnight Special. It’s releasing March 31, 2023.

A Quiet Place: Part II has made around $280 million worldwide at the box office.
