Achievement hunters have a busy few weeks ahead as Microsoft kicks off another Gamerscore challenge. Until the end of May, every point of Gamerscore players earn also nets them an equal number of reward points. These points can then be redeemed on the Microsoft Rewards app for real-life goodies.
Only the first 10,000 Gamerscore earned for the remainder of this month will be turned into Reward Points. Likewise, only Gamerscore earned by playing games on the Xbox One or Xbox Series X|S will be turned into rewards points. No, you can’t bust out a copy of Avatar: The Last Airbender – The Burning Earth for a quick 1,000 Gamerscore… sorry.
To start turning Gamerscore into points, players have to activate a punch card on the Xbox Rewards app. Be sure to do this before you go achievement hunting or you’ll lose potential rewards points.
Altogether, there isn’t much you can purchase with 10,000 Gamerscore. Players can redeem their points for a $10 Xbox Gift Card for 10,000 points or a month of Xbox Game Pass for PC at 6,800. Besides those slim offerings, players can also enter into a number of sweepstakes for just 200 points a pop. These giveaways are admittedly pretty sweet, with one offering a desktop PC capable of streaming and another giving away a ZOA Xbox Series X Mini Fridge. Of course, if none of that sounds attractive and you’d rather get some coffee or food, a number of gift cards are also available for 6,500 points.
An Xbox mini fridge isn’t that far away if you want to save your points. After defeating Skittles in a poll on Twitter, Xbox marketing head Aaron Greenberg recently said that the fridges would be manufactured. Last we heard, Microsoft took a look at designs for the console-themed fridges and sent back some notes.
