Halle Berry will star in the new Netflix spy-thriller Our Man From Jersey alongside Mark Wahlberg. There is no word yet on the character she will play, but Berry–an Oscar-winning actress–has appeared in spy films and action blockbusters before.
Berry played Jinx in the James Bond film Die Another Day, while she’s also known for her roles in John Wick: Chapter 3 and the X-Men series. She is also set to appear in the end-of-the-world movie Moonfall later this year.
Our Man From Jersey doesn’t have a director attached yet, which Collider said is unusual because Berry is known to like to know who is directing before she signs on. It may be that Netflix does have a director in mind, and that the news hasn’t broken yet.
David Guggenheim, who wrote Safe House and Stolen, is writing the script for Our Man From Jersey. Specific plot details are unavailable, but it’s been reported that the film is a spy movie with a blue-collar lead (Wahlberg).
This is just the latest collaboration between Berry and Netflix, as the streaming company recently acquired her directorial debut, Bruised, while she will star in Netflix’s The Mothership.
