Epic Games has released a new update for Fortnite, and it’s live now on Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S. It’s described as a “maintenance patch” and, according to what Epic shared, deals with a lone matchmaking issue, rather than introducing any new content or other big changes.
A “maintenance patch” rolled out earlier today that addresses party matchmaking issues for Creative mode on the aforementioned platforms. Epic released a similar patch a day earlier on PS4, PS5, and PC.

“You will be prompted to download the patch at the end of your match or when launching the game. No server downtime will be required,” Epic said on the Fortnite Status page.
Other issues continue to persist in Fortnite: Battle Royale, such as getting stuck on the Compete tab, receiving a “failed to query for Tournament Rules” error, cars not always dealing damage when driving into something, and Xbox Series X crashes caused by the Chug Cannon. Epic has detailed these on its Trello board, which also offers workarounds for some of the problems.
The previously released 15.40 update for Fortnite brought back the fan-favorite Flint-Knock pistol, while it also introduced new features on PC. This update also set the stage of the next limited-time modes, Air Royale and Floor is Lava, while there should now be more exotics in stock to acquire.
