Comedy legend Dave Chappelle’s sketch comedy program Chappelle’s Show has returned to Netflix, and with his blessing.
He revealed on Instagram that the show has returned to the streaming platform about two months after it was pulled at his request. Chappelle says in the video that the show was originally removed due to a clash with Comedy Central.
“I asked you to stop watching the show and thank God almighty for you, you did,” Chappelle said to his fans, via The Hollywood Reporter. “You made that show worthless because without your eyes it’s nothing.”
“And when you stopped watching it, they called me. And I got my name back and I got my license back and I got my show back and they paid me millions of dollars. Thank you very much.”
Also in the video, Chappelle praised Netflix co-CEO Ted Sarandos for his courage in removing Chappelle’s Show from Netflix even though it meant taking a financial hit.
“After all these years, I can finally say to Comedy Central, ‘it’s been a pleasure doing business with you,'” he said.
