Cameron Grimes signed with NXT two years ago, but finally, we’re seeing some evolution of the character as he returned after injury with a brand new gimmick: Gamestop stock and cryptocurrency millionaire.
The Carolina Caveman rolled up to Capital Wrestling Center in a new Lamborghini, and brand-new brown suit, handing out fresh $100 bills to staff as he made his way to the ring. He said that while he was away, he got really into video games. Eventually, he spent so much time playing games that he ran out and had to get more.
Where did he get them? Gamestop, of course.
“I walked into Gamestop and when I walked into those doors, those lights hit a little different,” Grimes said. “If there’s anything Cameron Grimes will put money in, it’s a fine establishment like Gamestop! Well turns out that Cameron Grimes was at the right place and the right time! Now I’ve got so much money!”
The money didn’t stop there for Grimes as he also announced he had invested in Dogecoin and made even more money. He started putting out wads of cash and throwing it around the ring hoopin and hollerin.
Grimes, real name Trevor Lee Caddell, has been around the independents for several years including Chicago’s AAW and North Carolina’s OMEGA, which was founded by Jeff and Matt Hardy before signing with NXT. This could be a great start for a character arc as he’s loaded now, but how does a man like Grimes see wealth? What’s his idea for style and class?
Grimes may be relishing his newfound wealth now, but what does the future hold for his new character? It could be played out the long term until he loses his money, but Grimes not being the brightest might have found himself at the end of the big short.
