Thor: Love and Thunder is currently filming in Australia, and now some photos from the set have leaked. The images, which were posted on social media, show off Chris Hemsworth as Thor–in a vest very similar to Thunderstrike’s–Chris Pratt as Star-Lord, Sean Gunn as Kraglin, and Karen Gillan as Nebula.
Thor’s look, at least in this scene, appears to be modeled after the Thor: Thunderstrike comic. Thunderstrike is a character created in the late-80s where supporting character Eric Masterson merged with Thor and took over the role for 30 issues. He also had a sweet goatee. However, the implications for Love and Thunder are unknown at this point. You can check out the images below, but remember that we don’t know any of the context about the scenes and more.
The fourth main Thor movie is filming at the Disney-owned Fox Studios Australia lot in Sydney, with the local government providing millions in subsidies for Marvel to shoot there. The movie giant already filmed the MCU movie Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings in Sydney.
Love and Thunder is directed by Taika Waititi, who also directed the last Thor movie, Thor: Ragnarok. After that, Waititi directed JoJo Rabbit and earned the Academy Award for Best Adapted Screenplay.

Love and Thunder also brings back Tessa Thompson (Valkyrie) and Natalie Portman (Jane Foster), while Christian Bale is set to make his MCU debut as the villain, Gorr the God Butcher.
Discussing his ideas for the fourth Thor movie, Waititi said in 2019, “When we were shooting Ragnarok, I was reading one storyline by Jason Aaron, called The Mighty Thor. And for those of you that don’t know that storyline, it’s incredible and full of emotion and love and thunder. And it introduces, for the first time, a female Thor.”
The female Thor will be played by Portman, who will transform into Mighty Thor, Goddess of Thunder. The movie is slated to come to theatres in May 2022.
