Former EA Boss Joins Another Game Company

Gaming industry veteran Peter Moore is on the move again. A journeyman who has worked at Sega, Microsoft, and EA before a run as an executive with the Liverpool Football Club, Moore is now taking his talents to the games company Unity.

Moore will become the SVP and GM of Sports & Live Entertainment at the company. “Delighted to be reunited with so many industry friends as we work on some really cool stuff,” he said.

It’s not immediately clear if this new position impacts his other games-related gig, sitting on the board of directors for the sports game developer Nifty Games.

Moore will be in familiar company at Unity, which makes the popular game engine, as the CEO of Unity is none other than former EA top chief executive John Riccitiello.

A number of prominent gaming industry figures wished Moore well in his new position at Unity, including Xbox boss Phil Spencer. He said, “Congrats Peter” to him on Twitter.

Moore also made headlines recently when he defended EA’s Ultimate Team mode from accusations that it represents a form of gambling.
