New Halo: Flashpoint Video Shows How The Tabletop Game Came To Life

In a new behind-the-scenes video, Mantic Games has shared more details on tabletop game Halo: Flashpoint ahead of its US release date of November 16, and the lengths the studio went to so that it could be an authentic experience for fans. One of the key features here is a focus on minimal preparation time and an easy-to-learn format, as Mantis Games wants players to be ready to dive into the tabletop action as quickly as possible.

“In Halo, you fire up your Xbox, you load in the game, and you’re straight into the game. We’re trying to replicate that with the tabletop edition. You open that box, you slot together the terrain, the miniatures are already built and ready to go. You can get straight in and be able to play that game from day one,” community manager Andy Burdis explained in the video.

The video also showed off several of the miniatures–including Spartan soldiers and Covenant forces–the terrain that players can assemble, and some of the impressive actions they’ll be able to pull off (if luck is on their side and they roll the right number). Mantis Games was able to draw from official resources provided by Halo Studios (formerly 343 Industries) for the game, as well as numerous works dedicated to the rich history of the Halo franchise.

Halo: Flashpoint will be available in two starter sets, but they are currently sold out. Several third-party sellers do have some of the starter sets, although these are only expected to be available in May 2025. The $125 Halo: Flashpoint Spartan Edition box includes a selection of minifigures and terrain for two-player Spartan versus Banished skirmishes, as well as the rulebooks, playing cards, and other gameplay pieces to learn to play the game.

Then there’s the Halo: Flashpoint Recon Edition for $78, which includes eight Spartan models with four different loadouts, accessories, and terrain pieces. These are available from Mantic’s official site and will launch in March 2025 release, but you’ll need to factor in shipping and import fees if you decide to go with this option.
