One of the many upcoming games viewers got a closer look at during Summer Game Fest Live was Killer Bean, a game based on the film of the same name. A new trailer for the game was presented alongside the announcement that the action-packed roguelike shooter is entering early access soon.
“There’s a reason I’m called Killer bean,” the game’s coffee-bean-turned-hitman boasts in the trailer. “It’s because I’m good at what I do. Really, really good.”
Viewers caught a new glimpse of the protagonist’s combat skills via the trailer, which featured various shots of the revenge-obsessed caffeine bean “taking out the trash” in style after the agency he once worked for–aptly named The Shadow Agency–tried to have him killed.
The gameplay trailer seems to suggest the game features both first- and third-person combat, with the mean bean in question performing various takedowns on unsuspecting enemies and taking down his fellow coffee beans with serious skill (and a decent helping of humor to boot).
No release date has been announced, but Killer Bean is expected to launch on multiple platforms, including PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Switch, and PC. The trailer announced that the game is set to go into early access sometime this summer.
Killer Bean can currently be wishlisted on Steam.
