Polylang for WooCommerce extends the Polylang Pro multilingual plugin with WooCommerce-specific functionality that the base Polylang plugin cannot handle. It ensures that the entire shopping experience, from product browsing to checkout to order confirmation emails, works correctly in each language.

Core Capabilities

• Product translations: Translate product names, descriptions, short descriptions, and slugs while sharing inventory, SKUs, and pricing data across all language versions.
• Cart and checkout translation: Ensures cart contents, checkout fields, payment gateway descriptions, and order notes display in the customer selected language.
• Email translations: Order confirmation, shipping notification, and other WooCommerce transactional emails are sent in the language the customer used during checkout.
• Translated endpoints: WooCommerce account pages, order tracking, and other endpoints work correctly with language-specific URL structures.
• Attribute and taxonomy translation: Translate product attributes, categories, tags, and shipping classes to provide a fully localized product catalog.

Practical Considerations

This addon requires Polylang Pro as the base multilingual plugin. It is not compatible with WPML or other multilingual solutions. Product inventory and pricing are shared across languages by default; if you need different prices per language (for different currencies), additional configuration or a currency switcher plugin is needed. Translating a full WooCommerce catalog is a significant content effort, especially for stores with hundreds of products and many attributes.
