Immortality Dev Teases New Survival-Horror And Cinematic Projects

Half Mermaid, the developer behind 2022’s Immortality, is teasing two upcoming projects on the Steam store. Project D seems to be a survival-horror game set in 1983, while Project C is set to be a cinematic experience. Neither project has a release window as of the time of publication.

The descriptions of both games are heavily redacted. Project D, which might stand for Doors as per Steam’s database registry, is “a survival-horror” with the keywords 1983, nurse, be careful, and nightmare. There’s also mention of “something bad,” “some doors,” and “home?” elsewhere on the page. Imagery involves eyes, a red backdrop with the word “America” in it, and of course, doors.

Project C is even more ominous. The first description says “gifted with the,” “kaleidoscopic,” and “future” amidst dozens of blank characters. There’s also a text extract that reads: “For now we see through a glass, darkly; but then face to face: now I know in part; but then shall I know even as also I am known.”

Both upcoming projects are labeled as single-player adventure games, which implies they’ll follow a similar structure to Half Mermaid’s past projects, like Immortality and Telling Lies. They also share the same mature content description, expressing that they might include “Some Nudity or Sexual Content, Frequent Violence or Gore, General Mature Content” in the final release.

The news took place alongside the release of Immortality on PS5. Alongside the digital game, the team announced Immortality: Design Works, a book including the game’s unabridged script and behind-the-scene interviews across 600 pages. If you’re a fan of the soundtrack, the OST is available on vinyl, cassette, and CD in limited quantities. The physical editions are available via Lost in Cult in different versions.
