Larian Studios has released a fresh lot of stats on how players are engaging with its hit RPG Baldur’s Gate 3, with the game having been out now for over four months. The developer has given an update on the game’s most popular romances, classes, and races, as well as revealing that a staggering number of players have been turned into a sentient cheese wheel.
To be specific, 1.24 million players have been turned into a cheese wheel by a djinni trained in cheesemancy–check out our guide here if you want to know exactly how this can happen. The number is shockingly close to the number of players who have actually finished the game, which sits at 1.3 million.
A number of the stats that were revealed after the game’s launch weekend have been updated in the new post. For instance, Paladins are still the game’s most popular class, and Clerics still the least popular, but the gaps between them have shrunk considerably. Githyanki are also no longer the least played race, having overtaken Dwarves, Gnomes, and Halflings–showing that Baldur’s Gate players prefer some height. Elves have also claimed the lead as most popular race, taking over from Half-Elves. While the launch weekend saw Scratch petted over 750,000 times, that number is now over 48.5 million.
When it comes to romances, Larian revealed that Shadowheart is the game’s most popular romance option, followed by Karlach and Lae’zel. The new stats also revealed that, of those who chose to romance Halsin, 66% preferred his human form to his bear form.
Larian has also revealed some juicy details about its punishing new Honor Mode. Around 158,000 playthroughs have already been started in Honor Mode, and of those, over 34,000 players have died. 464 people have somehow already completed the game in Honor Mode, despite it being out for less than a week.
