Now Playing: Marvel's Spider-Man 2 Video Review
2022’s God of War Ragnarok was previously the fastest-selling PlayStation Studios game ever, selling 5 million copies in a week. Before that, The Last of Us: Part II was the fastest-selling PlayStation game ever, moving 4 million copies in three days.
Insomniac’s 2018 original Spider-Man sold 3.3 million copies in three days, and 2018’s God of War moved 3.1 million units over its first three days. Spider-Man 2 has big shoes to fill to catch up to the original game, which sold more than 33 million copies.
It doesn’t appear Sony has announced a 24-hour sales figure for a previous release before, so there doesn’t seem to be a good way to directly compare sales from those games and others.
Insomniac has ideas for a third Spider-Man game and is also working on Wolverine game, so fans of the company’s Marvel games output have more to look forward to.

GameSpot’s Spider-Man 2 review scored the game an 8/10. Reviewer Jordan Ramee said, “All in all, Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 may largely give us more of what we’ve played in Insomniac’s previous Spider-Man games, but that winning formula is still so damn fun that it really doesn’t matter.”
