94th Academy Award Nominees Announced: Power Of The Dog Leads With 12 Nominations

The nominees for the 94th Academy Awards have been announced through a special broadcast hosted by. Tracee Ellis Ross and Leslie Jordan.

The 10 films up for Best Picture include Belfast, The Power of the Dog, Coda, Don’t Look Up, Drive My Car, Dune, King Richard, Licorice Pizza, Nightmare Alley, and West Side Story.

As for the acting categories, Jessica Chastain (The Eyes of Tammy Faye), Olivia Colman (The Lost Daughter), Penelope Cruz (Parallel Mothers), Nicole Kidman (Being the Ricardos), and Kristen Stewart (Spencer) were nominated for Best Actress in a Leading Role.

Javier Bardem (Being the Ricardos), Benedict Cumberbatch (The Power of the Dog), Andrew Garfield (Tick, Tick…Boom), Will Smith (King Richard), and Denzel Washington (The Tragedy of Macbeth) earned nominations for Best Actor in a Leading Role. The Power of the Dog director Jane Campion was also nominated for Best Director. The film led all others with 12 total nominations. The sci-fi blockbuster Dune followed with 10 nominations. The 94th Academy Awards will take place in Hollywood on March 27.
