A Quiet Place: Day One Delayed To 2024

The upcoming prequel to A Quiet Place has been delayed. Paramount Pictures announced on Tuesday that A Quiet Place: Day One will be released in theaters on March 8, 2024, according The Hollywood Reporter.

This is a about a six-month delay from its previous September 22, 2023 release date. It’ll be the first new A Quiet Place film since A Quiet Place Part II in May 2021.

Michael Sarnoski, who made waves with his directorial debut–Pig, starring Nicolas Cage–is lined up to direct A Quiet Place: Day One. John Krasinski directed the first two movies in the series.

Krasinski is involved with the sequel, as he came up with the idea and is a producer, alongside Michael Bay, Andrew Form, and Brad Fuller.

A Quiet Place: Part II included flashback scenes that showed the moment the aliens first came to earth, but it was only a tease, with the story then jumping back into the future. A Quiet Place: Day One, based on the name alone, appears to be a proper prequel that will show what happened on the day aliens came to Earth.

As for A Quiet Place Part III, it’s scheduled to premiere in 2025. There is no word yet on if John Krasinski will return as director. A Quiet Place video game is also in the works. The two A Quiet Place films have collectively grossed more than $650 million at the box office.
