Ahead of the TV show’s debut this month, Disney has released a new clip from the Ahsoka series, and it looks pretty great. The clip, titled “Dual Lightsaber,” focuses on Hera Snydulla (Mary Elizabeth Winstead) caught in an intense aerial battle while Ahsoka (Rosario Dawson) does battle on the ground with her dual lightsabers against multiple enemies.
Ahsoka premieres August 23 on Disney+, starting with not one episode but two. Check out the clip below.
Dawson has said Ahsoka is inspired by the wizard Gandalf’s journey from Gandalf the Gray to Gandalf the White. “She’s someone very capable and excellent and looked up to as a leader, but she still has levels of development to go,” Dawson said.
Beyond the Ahsoka solo series, a number of other big announcements were made at Star Wars Celebration earlier this year. Daisy Ridley will return to the series in a new Star Wars film that is set 15 years after the Rise of Skywalker and follows her efforts to rebuild the Jedi Order. Lucasfilm also announced films from Dave Filoni and James Mangold.
Other upcoming Star Wars content includes Andor season 2, which is aiming for an August 2024 debut, and Star Wars: The Acolyte, a Disney Plus series set during the final days of the High Republic era, has been described as “Frozen meets Kill Bill.”
