Amazon Prime Video's Wheel Of Time Gets First Teaser Trailer

Amazon Prime Video has released the very first teaser trailer for the upcoming series The Wheel of Time. The first three episodes will arrive on Friday, November 19, with new episodes arriving every Friday afterward, leading to the Season 1 finale on December 24.

The Wheel of Time is based on the best-selling fantasy novels by Robert Jordan, which sold more than 90 million books. The series spans 14 books–three of which were completed after Jordan’s death by Brandon Sanderson. Check out the trailer for the upcoming Amazon Prime Video series below.

The series will star Rosamund Pike as Moiraine, who is a member of Aes Sedai–a powerful all-female organization. After arriving at the town of Two Rivers, Sedai and a group of other adventurers head off on a journey across the world. However, one of the members of the group is the Dragon Reborn, who will save humanity or destroy it.

The series also features Sophie Okonedo (Hotel Rwanda) as Siuan Sanche, Kae Alexander (Ready Player One) as Elmindreda “Min” Farshaw, Alvaro Morte (Money Heist) as Logain, Hammed Animashaun (Black Mirror) as Loial, Alexandre Willaume (Tomb Raider) as Thom Merrilin, and Johann Myers (The Lost City of Z) as Padan Fain.

Executive producer and showrunner Rafe Judkins (Agents of SHIELD) is adapting the series, which is co-produced by Amazon Studios and Sony Pictures Television. The novel’s current writer Sanderson will serve as a consulting producer alongside Harriet McDougal. Series star Pike will also produce.

While Season 1 has yet to arrive, The Wheel of Time has already been given a Season 2 order. This series has been in production for years now, but there’s a lot to design and create. “As you know these big world-building shows take some time to craft,” Amazon TV co-head Vernon Sander said during the TCA winter press tour in 2020.
