Assassin's Creed Is Getting A Manga, Thanks To Partnership Between Viz Media And Ubisoft

Viz Media and Ubisoft recently announced that the two companies are working together on a new manga titled Assassin’s Creed: Blade of the Shao Jun. Arriving on February 16, the book will extend the story of Assassin’s Creed Chronicles: China.

Blade of Shao Jun comes from creator Minoji Kurata, as the author takes readers back to the Great Ming Empire where Emperor Jiajing created a period of turmoil thanks to a political purge. The Brotherhood only has one assassin still around, Shao Jun. Check out some of the interior pages from the book below.

“The story reveals details of Shao Jun’s present-day descendant, LisaHuang, a research subject testing a machine called the Animus,” reads the official synopsis for the manga. The Animus allows Lisa to relive Shao Jun’s memories through powerful simulations; thinking this is behavioral therapy, Lisa is unaware that Dr. Kagami is using her and Shao Jun’s memories to discover the location of the mysterious box treasure. The fate of the mysterious box is now in the hands of both the past and present!”

Upon release, Blade of Shao Jun will cost $15. However, you can preorder it now on Amazon for $13.49. This Assassin’s Creed manga isn’t the only recent video game book release. Viz Media put out a collection of Super Mario manga stories in English that are really bizarre.
