As part of Epic Games’ Spring Showcase, the company announced that Axiom Verge 2 will be coming to PC via the Epic Games Store. The announcement was accompanied by a trailer showing off some new footage for the upcoming game.
Axiom Verge 2 had previously only been confirmed for release on Switch, so this is the first word that it will be on PC as well. It was announced as an EGS exclusive, and saved as a “one more surprise” announcement near the end of the presentation. It was still listed as a 2021 release.

Now Playing: Axiom Verge 2 – Official EGS PC Port Trailer
We first saw Axiom Verge 2 at a 2019 Nintendo Indie World Showcase. Like the first game, it’s a retro side-scroller inspired by classic games, particularly Metroid. The first Axiom Verge was developed by lone game developer Tom Happ.
Happ previously said the Switch was a “natural fit” for the game, but declined to talk about other platforms at the time. It had previously targeted a 2020 release date, but was pushed to 2021.
