While the SteelSeries Nova Pro is our pick for the best high-end PS5 headset, Turtle Beach’s Stealth Pro puts up strong enough competition to warrant it a spot on this list as our runner-up for the category.
The Stealth Pro’s features are largely comparable to the Nova Pro’s, including a digital audio converter (DAC) that enhances audio quality from its 50mm Nanoclear drivers. However, unlike the SteelSeries’ external DAC module, the Stealth Pro’s in integrated into the headset itself, making it a simpler setup. Of course, that makes it a bulkier model, but it’s still a sleek-looking headset overall.
Along with the built-in DAC, the Stealth Pro features multiple mics, including the removable noise-canceling boom on the left earcup, and multiple concealed mics for additional voice capture. The headset supports multiple spatial audio formats including PS5 3D audio, Windows Sonic, Dolby Atmos, and DTS Headphone: X. The Stealth Pro’s battery life is one area that could give potential customers a reason to worry. At 12 hours, it’s not bad, but plenty of other headsets easily double that. Luckily, that’s not the full story. Rather than use built-in batteries, the Stealth Pro features two removable, rechargeable battery packs. Both last 12 hours, so you can get up to 24 hours from both on a single charge. The packs can recharge three hours of battery in 15 minutes, so as long as you keep one charged up and swap when needed, you theoretically could get endless use out of this headset.

The Pulse Elite certainly looks like a PS5-specific device, too, with a unique design that shares the console’s “alien spaceship-like” aesthetics. The Pulse Explore headphones are yet another member of Sony’s PS5-specific audio devices. Rather than a headset, they’re a pair of tiny true wireless earbuds, making them ideal for anyone looking for the simplicity and comfort of an in-ear option that still carries the functionality of a headset.
The Pulse Explore uses planar magnetic drivers, which Sony says allow for “near-perfect” audio performance. It also has multiple integrated microphones with AI-powered noise rejection for voice chat. Like other Pulse devices, the Pulse Explore earbuds support PS5 3D spatial audio, and uses PlayStation Link 2.4Ghz for wireless connections on PS5, PC, Mac, and PS Portal. The can also connect to mobile and non-Sony consoles via Bluetooth, and the earbuds let you listen to simultaneous audio playback from two devices–one over PS Link and the other over Bluetooth.
While those features are similar to Sony’s other Pulse headsets, the one place where the Pulse Explore lag is in their battery life, which lasts five hours on a full charge. You can get an additional 10 hours of battery by using the included charging case, but you won’t be able to use the earbuds while they charge. While that’s a shorter battery life than most headsets, their high-quality audio performance and suite of PS5-specific features still give them the edge over their competitors.

They also work with Bluetooth LE connections, but note that Bluetooth LE is different from standard Bluetooth, so only certain devices support it. Sony’s recently released Inzone headphones have the same great PS5 audio features as the Pulse, but they come in three different models and are ideal for those who game on PC and PS5. While pricey at $300, the Inzone H9 has the same soft-fit leatherette used in Sony’s WH-1000X headphones lineup, which make them incredibly comfortable. The H9 is certainly the best of the bunch if you’re looking for a wireless headset, with a 32 hour battery life. There’s also the H5, which has a slightly smaller 28-hour max battery life and less premium materials. Both the H9 and H5 offer 2.4GHz wireless connections, but the H9 also supports Bluetooth, while the H5 allows for wired connections via 3.5mm audio jack.
Meanwhile, the wired H3 comes in at the same price as the Pulse. If you’re primarily a PS5 gamer, we’d recommend the Pulse over the Inzone line. However, if you play a lot on PC, any of the Inzone headsets are great picks. They utilize Sony’s 360 Spatial Sound to produce audio designed specifically for your ear shape. It works quite well, but this feature is only available for PC. You also gain robust control over your audio experience on PC with the Inzone hub app.
So, who would we recommend these headsets to? PC gamers who also play PS5 would be happy with Inzone. We’d recommend checking out Sony’s 650 Spatial Sound before buying the pricey Inzone H9.
