Black Mirror Season 6 Trailer, Release Window, And First Details Revealed

Netflix has released the first trailer for Black Mirror Season 6 and confirmed the new season of the Charlie Brooker anthology series will arrive this June.

If the trailer makes no sense, that’s on purpose. Black Mirror is an anthology series that tells a new story, with a different cast of characters, in each new episode. The series is known for having nearly movie-length installments. Netflix said Season 6 is the “most unpredictable, unclassifiable, and unexpected season yet.” Check out the trailer below.

Season 6 features a number of big-name actors, including Aaron Paul, Anjana Vasan, Annie Murphy, Clara Rugaard, Josh Hartnett, Kate Mara, Myha’la Herrold, Paapa Essiedu, Rob Delaney, Salma Hayek Pinault, Samuel Blenkin, and Zazie Beetz.

Brooker said in an interview with Netflix that Season 6 will do things that no previous season has, and that’s notable because the very first episode saw a politician having intercourse with a pig.

“Partly as a challenge, and partly to keep things fresh for both me and the viewer, I began this season by deliberately upending some of my own core assumptions about what to expect,” Brooker said. “Consequently, this time, alongside some of the more familiar Black Mirror tropes we’ve also got a few new elements, including some I’ve previously sworn blind the show would never do, to stretch the parameters of what ‘a Black Mirror episode’ even is. The stories are all still tonally Black Mirror through-and-through–but with some crazy swings and more variety than ever before.”

Season 6 is the first since Brooker and creative partner Annabel Jones started a new production company, Broke and Bones, which Netflix invested in.

Some fans lost hope for Black Mirror Season 6, as Brooker himself said he might not want to make a new season because the real world was also falling apart. Well, Season 6 is happening and it’ll be here very soon. While you wait, check out GameSpot’s gallery below of the best Black Mirror episodes.
