There’s never been a better time to be a fan of Bleach, as thanks to the well-received and high-quality adaptation of the manga’s final storyline, The Thousand-Year Blood War, the show is back in the spotlight. One of the big three Shonen Jump manga of its era in the early 2000s–alongside Naruto and One Piece–its various volumes and box sets are currently on sale and worth checking out for its excellent action and slick art.
Bleach Box Set 1 (Vol. 1-21) — $111 ($175)Bleach Box Set 2 (Vol. 22-48) — $139 ($215)Bleach Box Set 3 (Vol. 49-74) — $128 ($200)
Created by Tite Kubo, Bleach originally ran from 2001-2016 and told the story of Ichigo Kurosaki, a teenager who obtained strange new powers after a fortuitous run-in with Rukia Kuchiki, a Soul Reaper for Soul Society who helps maintain balance across the worlds of the living and the afterlife by exterminating malevolent spirits known as Hollows. There’s a lot more to the series than just that brief synopsis, as the series added more characters, villains, and storylines to its lore across the hundreds of chapters that were published. If you’re a fan of swords, high-energy action, and meticulously plotted conspiracies, then you’ll likely appreciate this manga series.
If you’re looking to get the entire saga, Bleach has been published in English across 74 volumes. This entire run is available in three box sets, each one carrying a full collection of several story arcs. The first box set collects volumes 1-21 of Bleach (Agent of the Shinigame and Soul Society); the second box set contains volumes 22-48 (the entire Arrancar arc); and the third box set rounds up volumes 49-74 (the Lost Agent and Thousand-year Blood War arcs).
Each volume is the same size and format, so you can easily arrange them in uniform order on your shelf. These collections also make for great gifts for anime fans, and they provide big savings when you buy chunky collections like this as compared to the individual volumes.
If you are looking for a single trade paperback, you can find them here on Amazon, or alternatively, you can build up a Bleach collection with one of the omnibus editions. These offer three volumes in one book, making for a quick and easy way to read through the storylines. Most of the omnibuses are priced at $15, but you can save a couple bucks on quite a few of them:
