It looks like two very famous fictional World War II heroes might be joining Call of Duty: Vanguard. A datamining effort has revealed that the legendary characters Captain America and Indiana Jones might be coming to Vanguard in a future update.
Twitter user ModenasHD, who has previously unearthed unannounced Call of Duty content, found references to Captain America and Indiana Jones. They might be coming to Vanguard as part of an event called “American Heroes.” A Captain America Calling Card was also discovered in the datamining effort (via GamesRadar).
Captain America and Indiana Jones are famous Nazi-fighters, so it the connection to Vanguard makes sense. That being said, Activision has yet to officially announce this, so take it with a grain of salt for now. GameSpot has contacted Activision in an attempt to get more details.
Call of Duty: Vanguard, which is expected to be the best-selling game of 2021, released on November 5 for console and PC. It’ll face new competition in the FPS space starting this week when Battlefield 2042 releases in early access on November 12. A few weeks later, Microsoft will release its own heavy-hitter of an FPS game, Halo Infinite.
Outside of Vanguard, Call of Duty: Warzone‘s new Warzone Pacific update is scheduled to go live in early December, adding a brand-new map, Caldera. For more, check out GameSpot’s rundown of Vanguard’s battle pass and season one.
