What to expect from Season 4 Reloaded
The Season 4 Reloaded update is adding one final weapon for the season. The MX Guardian is a fully automatic 12-gauge shotgun, and the weapon can either be unlocked for free by completing in-game challenges or purchased as part of a cosmetic bundle.
Activision has detailed a superhero crossover with Amazon Prime’s The Boys television series. Operator bundles were announced for Homelander, Starlight, and Black Noir at $20 each. The update will include the temporary addition of the Temp V field upgrade to Warzone 2, which randomly grants players one of four superhero abilities: charged jump, electric shockwave, laser vision, or teleport. Temp V will be accessible in all battle royale and DMZ playlists except Ranked Play.
Like previous seasonal updates, the Season 4 Reloaded will include a new set of event camo challenges to unlock. The update will also likely include additional weapon balancing and bug fixes as well.
Warzone 2
Currently, Season 4’s new Vondel map is only available as a Resurgence mode, but the mid-season update will add a traditional battle royale experience with a brand-new gulag. These traditional Vondel matches will include up to 72 players, and the mode will be available in solo, duo, trio, and quad playlists.
Season 4 Reloaded will include the return of Warzone 1’s Occupation Scan public event, which requires players to go prone during this brief scan to avoid having their location exposed on the map for everyone to see.
On the DMZ side, Activision says more details will be revealed soon with new options for DMZ’s Plea for Help feature and new mechanics for assimilation.
Modern Warfare 2
The mid-season update will add Vondel Waterfront as a new standard multiplayer map. This is a map that features floating houses, which looks similar to the waterfront location on the Vondel map for Warzone 2, but the publisher’s blog revealed changes were made to the design to keep more fighting on land and prevent players from swimming underneath the houseboats.
Season 4 will include the final Raid episode of Modern Warfare 2’s ongoing post-launch narrative, and completing the finale will unlock a Farah operator skin.
In other Call of Duty news, Activision recently released an update on the game’s Ricochet anti-cheat, which discusses a new hallucination technique against cheaters.
