Ahead of the Fourth of July weekend, Call of Duty is offering a new patriotic “Tracer Pack: Butch” operator bundle in the in-game shop. This could be a fun choice for anyone wanting to celebrate Independence Day within Modern Warfare 2 or Warzone 2, but players have been quick to notice that a weapon included in the bundle looks just like a past holiday gun from Warzone 1.
The Tracer Pack: Butch operator pack is a nine-item bundle, which includes the Butch operator, two weapon blueprints, the Soaring Eagle vehicle skin, a very buff-looking eagle weapon charm, an Active Duty operator slot for DMZ, and more. This festive pack costs 2,400 CoD Points ($20).

One of the more controversial items in the pack is the Dawn’s Light weapon blueprint for the M4 assault rifle. As seen in the tweeted image below, players are already pointing out how similar the weapon blueprint looks to one from Warzone 1’s July 4 bundle, which was called the 1776 blueprint for Modern Warfare 2019’s M4A1 assault rifle.
It’s also worth noting, this operator bundle comes with Call of Duty’s recently criticized “pay-to-win” DMZ bonus effects. The Butch operator comes equipped with a free UAV at the start of every match, which can be a huge advantage in a game like DMZ. Both of the weapon blueprints also offer a 15-minute weapon cooldown bonus.
There has been a lot of fuss around Call of Duty’s shop bundles. Most recently, Activision removed content creator TimTheTatman’s operator bundle at the streamer’s request. Tim requested for the removal of his bundle after Nickmercs’ anti-LGBTQ tweet led to the removal of his MFAM operator skin from Call of Duty.
In other Call of Duty news, Activision recently released an update on the game’s Ricochet anti-cheat, which includes a new hallucination technique against cheaters.
