Crash Bandicoot News Teased For The Game Awards Via Bizarre Pizza Stunt

We’ve heard rumors about new Crash Bandicoot games for a while now, and a new promotional campaign from Activision would seem to confirm it. A pizza box sent to influencers like YouTuber Canadian Guy Eh apparently indicates an October release date for 2020’s Crash Bandicoot 4: It’s About Time on Steam, and also hints about further reveals to come.

The pizza box in question is labelled with the store “Aku Aku’s Steam-In Pizza Shack,” which is a rather obvious pun, if we do say so ourselves. The PC version of Crash 4 is currently a Battle.net exclusive, along with several other Activision Blizzard games like the Call of Duty series.

Now Playing: Crash 4: A Bandicoot for a New Generation

However, it’s the message on the side that has Crash fans all abuzz. It reads “Hungry for more? Try our new Wumpa pizza for $12.08!” This coincides with the date of the Game Awards, December 8. This sets the stage for some sort of reveal–according to current plans, anyway.

Crash 4 developer Toys for Bob teased a new project in the above tweet back in August, which caused some to speculate whether or not it’s a new Crash project. We’ve heard rumors about a multiplayer spinoff called “Wumpa League” for years now through insiders like Liam Robertson and others, so it’s possible that this might be that long-awaited announcement. Either way, fans of boulder chases and tiger rides have reason to be cautiously optimistic.
