Laura Bailey (The Last of Us Part II‘s Abby and Critical Role’s Vex’ahlia, Jester Lavorre, and Imogen Temult) has been revealed as the in-game narrator for Worlds of Aria, an upcoming TTRPG-inspired game in which you play as an entire group of adventurers attempting to save the world one dice roll at a time.
As seen in Worlds of Aria’s latest trailer, Bailey takes on a role akin to Amelia Tyler’s voice in Baldur’s Gate 3–she narrates the action, responds to the player’s choices, and adds a bit of comedic flair to the adventure. The game itself sees you making decisions from a handful of choices, the success of the outcome determined by the roll of the dice.
Each of the 10 characters specializes in a particular set of skills or abilities, increasing or decreasing your odds depending on who’s taking the lead on a particular choice. Though you can play through the entire experience solo, Worlds of Aria features local and online cross-platform multiplayer for up to four players.
Amusingly, Worlds of Aria uses a system that primarily relies on percentile dice, dice infamously avoided in most systems as it’s rare you need to determine an outcome based on a range of 1-100. Success might require you to roll between 1 and 30, for example.
Worlds of Aria is scheduled to launch for PC and Switch.
