Following a period of uncertainty, CD Projekt Red has now confirmed to reporter Stephen Totilo that Cyberpunk 2077 will come back to the PlayStation Store on June 21. CD Projekt Red also confirmed this on its website.
A spokesperson for Sony, meanwhile, told IGN that it recommends users to play the PS4 Pro or PS5 edition, as the PS4 version still has performance issues.

“SIE can confirm that Cyberpunk 2077 will be re-listed on PlayStation Store starting June 21, 2021,” the spokesperson said. “Users will continue to experience performance issues with the PS4 edition while CD Projekt Red continues to improve stability across all platforms. SIE recommends playing the title on PS4 Pro or PS5 for the best experience.”
Earlier today, IGN noticed that you could find Cyberpunk 2077 on the PlayStation 5 store simply by searching for its name, which seemingly signaled that the game was returning.
In May, CD Projekt’s Adam Kicinski said the Polish studio remained in communication with Sony, but the decision about restoring the game would ultimately come down to Sony. CD Projekt Red’s business boss, Michał Nowakowski, said he believes Sony is getting closer to making a decision. “We do believe we’re closer than further, but of course the final call is theirs, so let’s wait and see,” he said at the time.
Cyberpunk 2077 was removed from the PlayStation Store back in December 2020 when the game launched due to its technical issues. A refund program was also undertaken at the time. About 30,000 people took advantage of the refund scheme, CD Projekt Red said.
Despite the delisting, Cyberpunk 2077 managed to sell 13.7 million copies across all platforms in its first 21 days. CD Projekt Red management has said it will not abandon Cyberpunk 2077 and will instead continue to support the game with patches and updates to help improve the experience so the game can continue to sell for a long time.
More recently, CD Projekt Red was revealed to have paid its executives millions in bonuses that were tied to the commercial performance of the game. Developers, too, received bonuses thanks to Cyberpunk 2077’s strong sales.
