Star Wars Day is over, but the announcements keep coming. Lucasfilm has announced Lego Star Wars: Rebuild the Galaxy, a four-part animated series coming to Disney+ on September 13.
In Rebuild the Galaxy, an ordinary person named Sig Greebling (Gaten Matarazzo) discovers an artifact called the Cornerstone from a Jedi temple. This artifact enables him to access a “wild and twisted” version of the world where good guys are bad and bad guys are good. Sig’s task is to put all the pieces back together and save the galaxy.
Rebuild the Galaxy also features an evil version of Jar Jar Binks known as Darth Jar Jar, and Ahmed Best is coming back to voice the character. This is interesting and notable given that fans have long theorized that Jar Jar Binks might actually be evil. Here at GameSpot, we love Jar Jar Binks and think it’s pretty cool that he’s getting even more screentime and appreciation.
The show also features the voices of Tony Revolori (Dev Greebling), Bobby Moynihan (Jedi Bob), Marsai Martin (Yesi Scala), Michael Cusack (Servo), and Mark Hamill (Luke Skywalker).
The showrunners and executive producers of the series are Dan Hernandez and Benji Samit, who previously worked together on Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem, Pokemon Detective Pikachu, and The Addams Family 2.
Star Wars fans don’t have to wait until September for a new series, though, as the live-action Star Wars: The Acolyte is coming this June.
