The Sorcerer is one of the most popular classes in the Diablo franchise. Previously going by the name Wizard, this class is both beginner-friendly and extremely powerful, especially when players synchronize their build correctly. There are three distinct routes that players can take their Sorcerer builds in Diablo 4 if they’re looking to maximize how much damage they can do. Those routes would be a Frost, Lightning, and Fire Sorcerer.
Today, we will be offering up the best build for each one of these routes for the Sorcerer. This will include the best skills to use as well as what passives and enchantments you should use. It will not include any particular Legendary Aspects, but you can find our picks for the best Sorcerer Aspects in a previous guide.

Best Sorcerer Builds
While you can go with a solid all-around build for the Sorcerer, featuring skills across the three different elements, you will find that skills with the same damage type work incredibly well together. Frost Sorcerers can freeze their enemies and then have them explode while frozen, dealing even more damage to surrounding enemies while Lightning Sorcerers can create chain reactions all across the battlefield.
Below, we will list the skills and enchantments you should use for the three distinct Sorcerer builds in Diablo 4.
Frost Sorcerer
This is what we personally used during our early access run through Diablo 4, and it’s incredibly enjoyable and rewarding to use. Our particular build relies on freezing enemies and making them vulnerable and chilled to deal the maximum amount of damage.
Not all of the build has frost elements, though, as one of the skills and enchantments (Fireball) we use is fire-based. However, it’s all for the good of the build, as the skill/enchantment makes enemies blow up when they die. This allows you to deal an extremely high amount of damage after an enemy has been frozen, as one enemy’s explosion causes a chain reaction amongst all of the frozen enemies. Fireball is also a terrific skill to use on enemies to start a fight or when they are frozen.

Lightning Sorcerer
We found the Lightning Sorcerer to not carry the same vigor as it did during the Diablo 4 beta, but with the right skills and, hopefully, gear, players will be able to get the most out of it. As you might expect, the Lightning Sorcerer is based around the Chain Lightning skill and generating Crackling Energy. This allows players to deal damage to enemies they aren’t targeting, making fights much easier, especially against bosses who have minions running around them on the battlefield.
Some of the lightning skills down the skill tree aren’t too strong, though, so we’ll be subbing in another elemental skill.

Fire Sorcerer
Now we have come to what we believe to be the weakest of the Sorcerer builds, as the developers nerfed some of its key skills after the Diablo 4 beta. However, Fire Sorcerers can still be lethal in Sanctuary, they’ll just need to craft their build carefully and get some luck with their gear.
As with the other builds, we won’t just go with all fire skills and enchantments. However, we will be focusing on making enemies burn and staying relatively close to enemies while fighting so that the burning can take real effect.

That does it for our best Sorcerer builds in Diablo 4. In the future, we will have more dedicated guides to each of the three distinct builds, but, for now, this is a fantastic jumping-off point for players upon first arriving in Sanctuary.
