Dynasty Warriors: Origins, a new entry in the longrunning series developed by Omega Force, is coming to PlayStation 5 in 2025.
A brief trailer shown during Sony’s most recent State of Play highlights a new, nameless hero decimating hoards of enemies in true Dynasty Warriors fashion. The hero is shown commanding troops, riding on horseback, and wielding multiple different weapons, including a sword, spear, and a bladed-fist weapon. What looks to be a 1v1 boss fight is also shown.
In an official PlayStation Blog post, Dynasty Warriors: Origins producer and Omega Force studio head Tomohiko Sho shared a few more details, like how the upcoming title will take full advantage of the power of the PS5 to “redefine expectations” and “deliver the epic sense of exhilaration after overcoming the odds in the most thrilling warfare we’ve ever been able to create.” Players will need to rely on their own power, as well as coordinate with their allied forces and employ the game’s tactical aspects, to overcome “massive armies as far as the eye can see.”
Sho did not elaborate on the game’s new protagonist, but stated that for the first time in the franchise’s history, players will be playing as an all-new character made to showcase “the vast land of China and its timeless soldiers and generals like never before.”
