Elden Ring Release Date Delayed To February, Network Test Set For November

Bandai Namco has delayed the launch of From Software’s highly anticipated RPG Elden Ring. The game will now launch on February 25, 2022, a delay from January.

Explaining the delay, the developers said, “The depth & strategic freedom of the game exceeded initial expectations. Thank you for your trust & patience.” February 2022 is a very, very busy month for new releases, with games like Horizon: Forbidden West, Dying Light 2: Stay Human, The King of Fighters XV, Sifu, Destiny 2’s The Witch Queen expansion, and the Saints Row reboot all releasing that month, too.

Now Playing: ELDEN RING – Closed Network Test Announcement

The publisher also announced a closed network test for Elden Ring, and it begins very soon. The closed network test begins on November 12, and you can register now for a chance to get in. Those who are chosen for the beta test can take part in five different sessions, held November 12-15 for three hours each time.

Xbox boss Phil Spencer told us last year that he had already been playing Elden Ring, describing it as director Hidetaka Miyazaki’s “most ambitious game.” It’s set for release on PC, PS4, and Xbox One, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S. A free upgrade will be available for PS4 players to the PS5 version, while the Xbox versions will offer Smart Delivery support. For more, check out our Elden Ring preorder guide.
