As part of the Nintendo Direct Partner Showcase, Nintendo and Disney announced Disney Epic Mickey: Rebrushed. This is an updated version of 2010’s Epic Mickey, featuring “a variety of upgrades” in what’s described as an overall “enhanced” edition of the 3D platformer that was originally released for the Wii.
According to Nintendo’s announcement, Mickey now has a “whole new set of skills and more,” and you can get a brief glimpse in the trailer below.
Rebrushed is developed by Purple Lamp in collaboration with THQ Nordic and Disney. The 2010 game was developed by Disney’s own internal studio, Junction Point, which has since closed.
A sequel, Epic Mickey 2: The Power of Two, was released in 2012, which was the same year a Nintendo 3DS game, Epic Mickey: Power of Illusion, was also released.
Epic Mickey Rebrushed is coming to Switch later this year. Whether or not it’s released on additional platforms remains to be seen.
