Bethesda has revealed a bunch of new information regarding Fallout 4 and its long-awaited update for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. It was originally announced back in 2022 but was delayed to this year.
The update is free and will be released on April 25. The update will include native versions for both of the newest consoles, as well as the choice to pick between Performance and Quality modes. Specifics for these weren’t shared, but Bethesda did note you can “experience up to 60fps and increased resolutions.”
Those still playing on PS4 and Xbox One will receive a free update with stability improvements and quest fixes. The PC version will also add widescreen and ultra-widescreen support, along with fixes to the Creation Kit and quest updates. The game is already on Steam, Microsoft Store and GOG, but will also now be available for purchase on the Epic Game Store. It will also become Steam Deck verified.
The update will include some new story content, including the “Echoes of the Past” quest, which brings the Pre-War cabal, The Enclave, to Fallout 4’s storyline. There will also be previously released Creation Club content such as various weapon skins and armor skins, including:

Lastly, there’s a Halloween Workshop with 38 new Halloween decorations to add to your settlement such as witches, cauldrons, and ghouls.
The series just got a TV adaptation through Amazon Prime, and it’s received positive reviews. Bethesda has plans to do Fallout 5, but don’t expect it any time soon. However, Todd Howard recently touched upon the subject saying that some ideas didn’t make it into the TV show was because Bethesda is planning to add it in Fallout 5.
