Ubisoft announced that a patch is available for Far Cry 5 that enables 60fps on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. The 60fps patch applies to all of Far Cry 5 game modes, including its campaign, co-op, arcade, and all downloadable content.
Earlier this week, Ubisoft teased that a highly requested feature would come to Far Cry 5 soon for the game’s fifth anniversary. Now, it’s been confirmed to be the 60fps feature. Additionally, Ubisoft announced a free weekend for Far Cry 5 from March 23 – March 27 on all platforms. Players will have access to all of the game’s main content throughout the free weekend.
Far Cry 5 was first released in 2018 for PC, PS4, and Xbox One. The game can be played via backward compatibility on current-generation consoles. It later came to the now-dead Google Stadia in 2020. It has three downloadable expansions: Hour of Darkness, Lost on Mars, and Dead Living Zombies. Ubisoft is reportedly working on two Far Cry games, a single-player one, which is presumably Far Cry 7, as well as a multiplayer one.
In GameSpot’s Far Cry 5 review, we said, “Far Cry 5 boasts a wonderfully harmonious flow to its adventure, with its smart changes to exploration, discovery, and progression distinctly bolstering the enjoyment of creatively engaging and experimenting with its spectacular open world.”
